How to get 16-bit apps to run on XP?
(too old to reply)

Our company has several 16-bit applications which we would like to run
on an XP machine. When trying to these 16-bit apps, we get an error
to the effect of, "The Windows XP 16 bit subsystem cannot.." etc etc
and then it gives some hex number. Most of our 16 bit apps run fine
on XP, but a few don't. Any ideas on how to get them to run on XP?
Are there any commercial applications/utilities which will allow 16
bit apps to run on XP?
Thanks for any help.

Are you using the "command" window instead of the "cmd" window? DOS apps that
do their own I/O won't work with Windows NT base.

AND... If they're windows apps, right click on the *.exe for Properties. Set
a compatibility mode on its tab.
